We are seeking an Optometric Super Star to join our team. As an Optometric Super Star, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and support to our patients. You will assist with front desk duties, medical billing, retail sales, and various administrative tasks. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career growth within our organization.
Our offices are small offices where team members are cross-trained and handle all duties as needed. Current employees are long term employees and we would like to add another long-term member to our team. Any type of experience in optometry or ophthalmology and/or optometric/ophthalmic certification/license will significantly help as well as proficiency in another language other than English but neither are required.
Responsibilities include:
o Helping patients with fitting glasses and billing their insurances
o Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
o Schedule appointments and help manage the appointment calendar
o Assist with retail sales of eyewear and contact lenses
o Contact lens education
o Perform basic eye test such as measuring visual acuity and checking IOP’s
o Provide support to other staff members
o Handling patient referrals and records request
o Proficient in medical terminology related to optometry
o Verification of insurance benefits
o Tracking and follow-up to ensure claims are paid accurately and on time
Requirements:
o Good computer, phone, and keyboard skills
o You must be self-directed, highly organized and have strong time management skills
o Energetic, positive personality; experience in working well with a team & the public
o Be available to work during business hours.
